Bai Zorahayda T. Taha, DSWD- 12 regional director
The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Region 12 assured that the National Household Targeting Unit (NHTU) Validation Assessment for the Pablo victims will not be used for election purposes
DSWD officials have taken steps to safeguard the assessment against manipulating the process to serve the interest of politicians.
Bai Zorahayda T. Taha, DSWD- 12 regional director, assured the public that the agency will strictly monitor the project implementation to prevent any political manipulation.
“We have carefully screened all the hired staff, from enumerators, area supervisors to area coordinators. The agency made sure that none of the staff is connected to politicians, and will keep an eye on the ball to avoid suspicion from external audience,” she said.
“We have instructed the enumerators to stop the validation, return to the field office immediately and write a report on the incident for investigation,” Taha noted. “This way, we can prevent the anomaly before it spreads out.”
A total of 60 enumerators, 10 area supervisors and 2 area coordinators were deployed by DSWD 12 while Lanao and Maguindanao in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao  deployed 209 enumerators, 34 area supervisors and 6 area coordinators.
They are expected to submit individual validation reports on March 28, the day before the election ban takes effect.
More than 60, 000 households in Central Mindanao have been displaced by the onslaught of Typhoon Pablo last December.
