Amid rise in COVID-19 cases, Gensan remains under MGCQ status

 


    GENERAL SANTOS CITY- The city will remain under Modified General Community Quarantine status amid rise on reported active cases and fatalities for corona virus disease (COVID-19 in the entire SOCCSKSARGEN region.

    In its COVID-19 tracker released on New Year, the Department of Health-SOCCSKSARGEN Region reported a total of 329 COVID-19 active cases for the entire region of which General Santos City topped the list with 108 active cases and 58 fatalities.

    The DOH COVID-19 tracker reported that South Cotabato tailed General CSantos City with 55 actives cases and 27 deaths and followed by Cotabato City with 50 active cases and 38 fatalities.

    The National Inter-Agency Task Force vs. COVID-19 has placed the entire SOCCSKSARGEN region which comprises South Cotabato, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City under the MGCQ status from January 1 until January 30.

    The local Inter-Agency Task Force is set to implement stringent health protocols including the imposition of curfew from 12 midnight until 4 a.m. and mandatory quarantine for returning local residents and overseas workers.
