Kidapawan City, North Cotabato - Authorities arrested on Wednesday an employee of the municipal health center here for facilitating the importation of marijuana kush and oil worth P1.3 million.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency together with policemen and Customs personnel arrested the suspect identified as Jude Paolo Javier, 25, while he was about to claim the package which was declared as cooking utensils at the postal office ,this city.
PDEA-12 regional director Naravy Duquiatan said the entrapment operation was conducted after authorities had received intelligence information on the shipment of the contraband from California, USA.
Marijuana kush is among the strains of cannabis sativa which can only be sourced out from abroad.
Duquiatan said the suspect was already placed under surveillance the past months while plying his illicit trade on selling. marijuana stuff on social media.
She said the suspect had already established its online market wherein his clients reportedly demanded for imported marijuana kush and oil which were bought by the suspect from the US.
Charges for selling and illegal possession of prohibited drugs have been filed against the suspect.
